PM urges Muslims in the country to embrace Islamic values for Malaysia's development

SHAH ALAM: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reminded Muslims in the country to embody and embrace the strength, spirit, and essence of Islamic teachings in all circumstances, in order to accelerate growth and help transform Malaysia into a developed nation.

Returning to the spirit of Islam and honouring Prophet Muhammad, said Anwar, are the values that Muslims should hold on to and uphold as the country progresses.

"For Malaysia to achieve its Madani status, the country must ensure safety and accelerate development. We must strive for and explore new discoveries.

"Yesterday, I mentioned that we have to dive into digital and artificial intelligence (AI). For a country to achieve its Madani status, it must be rooted in the strength of our faith.

"It must be rooted in Islamic values and morals," said Anwar in his speech at the Maulid Akbar: Darul Ehsan Berselawat programme here today.

Present was Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

As such, Anwar said, these morals and values must be shown through sincere efforts in the daily lives of all individuals.

"It is our common responsibility to uphold the sincerity of (this) value in our lives, in our country," he said.

Yesterday, Anwar called for the youth to integrate and incorporate the wealth of Islamic knowledge and Turath (heritage books) into the corpus of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

He said this was to prevent technology from being dominated by Western elements and materials.
