Selangor MB launches financing scheme for entrepreneurs

SHAH ALAM: Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari today launched the Logo for Plats Biaya scheme to boost entrepreneurs' business potential.

Amirudin said the scheme would help entrepreneurs expand their markets, particularly towards digitalisation.

The scheme is a collaboration between Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated and Selangor Platform (Plats) with Selangor Hijrah Foundation (YHS) offering a financing scheme to Plats entrepreneurs.

He said this collaboration was provided for entrepreneurs under the Plats Entrepreneur Development Training Programme (U-Plats).

"A total of 120 entrepreneurs will get financing of RM3,000 each."

YHS chief executive officer Datuk Mearia Hamzah said entrepreneurs would receive contributions from the Self-Employment Social Security Scheme and takaful.

She said participants could get additional financial through the Hijrah Selangor microcredit scheme.

"We hope recipients will use this financing and make repayments through the one-year instalment period."

MBI Group chief executive officer Saipolyazan M. Yusop said the financing would boost micro, small- and medium-sized enterprises, which were the engine of the state's growth.

"Traders should register their businesses through Plats and grab the opportunities offered."

Last year, MBI introduced U-Plats to help entrepreneurs manage their businesses digitally with the involvement of 12 local authorities.
