Over 30,000 to receive RM200 Budi Madani cash assistance on June 10 [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: More than 30,000 individuals, farmers and smallholders will receive the first Budi Madani cash assistance on June 10.

Recipients will receive the first cash assistance amounting to RM200 on June 10 through their bank accounts.

Meanwhile, recipients without a bank account can claim their Budi Madani aid in cash by bringing their MyKad to any Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branch throughout Peninsular Malaysia.

The Finance Ministry in a statement said applications made in June will be eligible for payment for that month and the following months, while applications made after June will only be eligible for payments starting from July.

Budi Madani is a government initiative to ensure that subsidy allocations are targeted at eligible groups; divided into individual assistance (Budi Individu), farmers and small growers (Budi Agri-Komoditi), and companies and transport vehicles (MySubsidi Diesel).

It is estimated that 300,000 private diesel vehicle owners in Peninsular Malaysia are eligible to receive Budi Individu, and 68,000 farmers, 8,000 livestock farmers, and 34,000 small-scale aquaculture operators are eligible to benefit from Budi Agri-Komoditi.

According to the statement, a majority of applications were not approved due to the applicants failing to meet the specified eligibility criteria.

For individual applicants who are not approved, they can check their application status and appeal on the Budi Madani website at https://budimadani.gov.my.

For farmers and small growers who are yet to register with agencies under the relevant ministries, they are advised to do so before submitting a Budi Madani application.
