KUANTAN: A youth was killed after crashing his motorcycle into a cow along Jalan Pantai Sepat near here yesterday.
The victim, identified as 20-year-old Mohamad Daniel Asraf Abdul Zahir, died on the spot in the 9pm incident.
Kuantan police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu said Daniel, a food stall helper, was riding his Yamaha motorcycle from Tanjung Lumpur towards his house at Kampung Cherok Paloh.
"While riding along the straight road, a cow suddenly crossed the road. The motorcyclist, who was riding alone, lost control of his bike and rammed into the cow.
"The victim suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.
"His remains was taken to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital for post mortem," he said, adding the cow also died as a result of the collision.
Wan Zahari said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act of 1987.
