PN to challenge PH win in KKB, pending report completion [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: An election petition to challenge Pakatan Harapan's (PH) victory in the recent Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election is still being considered by Perikatan Nasional (PN).

PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said they would file the petition once their report is completed.

"We have received information on actions by certain parties that, in our view, have impacted the election results.

"We still have time to file the petition, so we will do so once the report is finished.

"We have the information, but it is not yet complete," he said after a PN leadership council meeting yesterday.

On May 20, Selangor PN chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said he was gathering evidence for an election petition to challenge PH's victory.

He said Muhyiddin had instructed their lawyers to gather evidence, and all 16 district polling centre chiefs would assist the legal team.

PH's Pang Sock Tao won the by-election after polling 14,000 votes against PN's Khairul Azhari Saut's 10,131 votes.

Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan had previously claimed that PH abused its power and misused government machinery before and during the by-election campaign.

He said PN would file an election petition if PH won.
