KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry says follow-up action has been taken following the two fatal cases of food poisoning at a school in Gombak recently.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad said the ministry viewed this matter seriously and has taken subsequent action.
He urged event organisers and food suppliers to ensure the cleanliness and safety of food, especially in unpredictable weather conditions.
"Children, especially, are susceptible to dehydration caused by diarrhea. If there are symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, fatigue, headache, please seek immediate assistance at the nearest clinic.
"If the situation is severe, you can go to the Emergency Department of the nearest hospital," he said in a statement on his Facebook yesterday.
Dzulkefly also reminded everyone to pay attention to the advice and guidelines provided through the MyHealth social media platform and the Food Safety and Quality Division of the Health Ministry from time to time.
