ALOR STAR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim headed the list of recipients of state awards and medals in conjunction with the 82nd birthday celebration of the Sultan of Kedah Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah today.
The Prime Minister was conferred the Darjah Seri Setia Sultan Sallehuddin Kedah Yang Amat Dihormati (SSSK) which carries the Datuk Seri Diraja title.Sultan Sallehuddin consented to confer the awards and medals in an investiture ceremony held at Istana Anak Bukit here.
Also in attendance were the Sultanah of Kedah Sultanah Maliha Tengku Ariff, Raja Muda of Kedah Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Sultan Sallehuddin and Raja Puan Muda of Kedah Che Puan Muda Zaheeda Mohamad Ariff.
Anwar was accompanied by his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.Sultan Sallehuddin also conferred the Darjah Seri Setia Pahlawan Yang Dihormati (SSPK) which carries the title Datuk Seri Pahlawan to the Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman.
Three recipients received the Darjah Gemilang Wira Mahkota Kedah Yang Amat Dihormati (DGWK) which carries the title Datuk Wira.They are State Financial Officer Datuk Syed Khairol Anuar Syed Abidin; Army chief General Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan; and Health Ministry director-general Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan.The state Religious, Communications and Information Committee chairman Mohd Azam Abdul Samat and AFK Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Dr Azmil Khalili Khalid were conferred with Darjah Dato' Setia Sultan Sallehuddin Kedah (DSSS) which carries the Datuk title. Nine recipients were conferred the Darjah Dato' Setia Diraja Kedah (DSSK) which carries the title Datuk.
They are Kota Setar District Officer Hakim Ariff Md Noor; Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dr Nadzman Mustaffa; Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry secretary-general Datuk Dr Kim Ching Thoo; Universiti Utara Malaysia vice-chancellor Professor Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan; UUM Holdings Sdn Bhd Board of Director chairman and UUM Board of Director member Mohd Zuhri Abdullah, Medical director of Eye Specialist Clinic Abdul Razak Sdn Bhd Dr Abdul Razak K.V Koyakutty; Kedah Islamic Religious School Council chairman Abdullah Lebai Samah; Yiked Bina & Tanjung Digital director Mohd Azam Saad and Kedah Chinese Chambers and Industry president Ang Saik Cheong.
Four recipients received the Darjah Dato' Setia Pahlawan (DSSP) which carries the title Datuk. They are Defence Ministry Veteran Affairs' Department director-general Major General Zambery Jefry Darus; Armed Forces defence logistics assistant chief of staff Major General Abdul Aziz bu Hassan; Malaysia Infantry 6th Brigade chief Brigadier General Saipol Anuar Jaafar; and Kedah police chief Datuk Fisol Salleh. Thirteen recipients were conferred with the Setia Diraja Kedah (SDK).
Meanwhile, 32 recipients received the Ahli Mahkota Kedah (AMK), followed by Ahli Setia Pahlawan (11 recipients); Bintang Perkhidmatan Cemerlang Kedah (15 receipients); Bintang Kebaktian Masyarakat (52 recipients); Ahli Cemerlang Semangat Jerai Kedah (20 recipients); Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang Kedah (35 recipients); Pingat Jasa Kebaktuan (19 recipients) and Pingat Perkhidmatan Lama (20 recipients).
