KUALA LUMPUR: BzBee Consult founder and managing director Prof Mohd Said Bani CM Din has made history by becoming the first Malaysian to be awarded the Asia Pacific Communicator of the Year title.
The award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) recognises Said Bani's contributions to strategic communication, setting a new standard of excellence within the Asia Pacific region.
Said Bani, as the president of the Malaysia Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), has transformed public relations with his influential leadership.
His leadership and commitment to strategic, ethical, and inclusive communication have driven success and fostered meaningful connections across diverse sectors.
"This recognition underscores the profound influence of communication in our interconnected world," he said.
"I share this honour with my exceptional team, whose dedication and creativity have been invaluable.
"As communicators, we wield the power to shape narratives, influence perceptions, and connect meaningfully with people. Let us continue to use this power ethically and with integrity."
Said Bani was also honoured with the Top Leader in Public Relations Award for the Asia Pacific Region by the World Communications Forum Association (WCFA) earlier this year.
He was subsequently appointed to the board of International Advisors for the Davos-based association, in recognition of his achievements as one of the region's top communicators.
IABC Asia Pacific Chair, Kane Errol Choa, lauded Said Bani's work, noting that it not only advances his organisation but also elevates the field of strategic communication across the Asia Pacific region.
"We are thrilled to honour Said Bani. His unwavering commitment to excellence in communication exemplifies the highest standards of our profession," he said.
Similarly, IABC Asia Pacific Director, Liza Vengco, emphasised the importance of new role models in the field.
