KUALA LUMPUR: The Experience Macao road show that began last Friday continues to expand the international visitor market for Macao through various channels.
The event, held at the Sunway Pyramid shopping centre and organised by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) aims to present the latest tourism updates from Macao, with exclusive products and discount packages to help Malaysians plan their trips there.
The four-day event which ended today promoted Macao's vibrant tourism landscape and also aligned with Macao's development strategy to enhance economic diversification and regional tourism cooperation.
MGTO deputy director Cheng Wai Tong said Experience Macao offers a variety of attractive destinations and family-friendly entertainment, as well as business adventures.
At the same time, he said that Macao promises the best tourism experiences with a wide range of accommodation, dining, and business options.
Among the captivating performances at the roadshow was the "Fat Fat Chef Dance," symbolising Macao's "Creative City of Gastronomy," as well as dances in the style of Portuguese-speaking countries and a magic show.
"Additionally, there were performances by renowned Malaysian artists such as Hael Husaini, Jeryl Lee, Muzza and the Velvettones Band, and Zax Lee, alongside popular singers from Macao, Pilipe and Giulianna."
Various games and interactive activities were also held, offering participants the chance to win Macao-themed souvenirs.
There were two main prize draws daily at 3.00pm and 8.00pm , with winners in the running to win the grand prize of a holiday to Macao, with a total value exceeding RM80,000.
Cheng said Malaysia is a significant market for Macao because of the direct air routes between the country and the Chinese territory.
He said this has recently increased Malaysian interest to visit Macao by three-fold.
"In June, we welcomed 12,000 visitors from Malaysia alone, which ranked fourth as our visitor source market."
As such, he said the MGTO will continue to collaborate with Malaysian airlines, travel agencies and online platforms to promote travel packages to Macao.
He said the roadshow was also carried out in collaboration with the Economic Development Bureau of Hengqin, six resort companies, four travel agencies, and two airlines.
"We are aware that Malaysians come from diverse ethnic backgrounds and races.
We are ready to welcome all Malaysian visitors to Macao.
He said that before the tour began, they had already conducted extensive online promotions to attract public attention.
He also said that Experience Macao offers a variety of attractive destinations and family-friendly entertainment, as well as business adventures.
At the same time, he added that Macao promises the best tourism experiences with a wide range of accommodation, dining, and business options.
