Hadi refuses to comment on Zahid's remarks

KOTA BARU: Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has refused to comment on the statement made by Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who rejected any form of cooperation between Pas and Umno.

The Pas president said he would leave it to other party leaders to respond to the remarks made by the Umno president.

Hadi, who is also the Marang member of Parliament, said he was informed that his deputy Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man had already issued a statement on the matter.

"I will not answer to his (Zahid) remarks saying that Umno will not cooperate with Pas when l am still the president," he told reporters after the launch of the Kelantan 'Membangun Bersama Islam' (Developing With Islam) International Conference 2024 here last night (July 9).

The programme was launched by Menteri Besar Datuk Nassaruddin Daud.

Present were deputy menteri besar Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan, state Speaker Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah and state Pas commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yakob.

Yesterday, Zahid said Umno will never cooperate with Pas as long as Hadi is the president of the party.

Zahid said this follows his experience working together with Hadi, who he claimed is always inconsistent with his stance.
