Malaysia condemns relentless Israeli attacks at al-Mawasi refugee camp

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has condemned the relentless attacks by Israel on Palestinians, including the airstrike carried out on the al-Mawasi refugee camp on Saturday.

According to a statement from Wisma Putra, the airstrike took place inside an area designated by Israel itself as a safe zone for Palestinians, resulting in the loss of many innocent Palestinian lives, including women and children, and injured hundreds of others.

"This heinous and appalling attack, is a flagrant disregard for all human life. It also contravenes international law, humanitarian law and international human rights law.

"Malaysia stands in unwavering solidarity with the people of Palestine and unequivocally denounces the continued aggression and brutality perpetrated by the Israeli regime.

"This relentless violence contravenes United Nations Security Council Resolution 2735 (2024), which calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the protection of civilians and unfettered humanitarian access in Gaza.

"The international community must take immediate and decisive actions to end the Israeli regime's egregious violations and hold its leaders accountable for crimes against humanity," it said.
