Rafizi: Ringgit strengthens further, second-best performer in Asia

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit strengthened to 4.6652 versus the US dollar today, compared to 4.7931 on April 18, said Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli.

He said the ringgit is the second-best performer in Asia and expected to further strengthen until the end of the year.

He added, the country's composite index has continued rising since a year ago, jumping to 1,633 points or 21.09 increase in a year, while the gold index has reached the highest in five years and continues to rise.

"Gold index reached 12,678 points or 26.32 per cent increase in a year.

"We can't convince detractors with data and facts, but we can disseminate facts to save people from idiocy," he said in a  TikTok post, addressing a posting published by Harakah daily.
