KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic from Ipoh to the Menora tunnel came to a standstill earlier today due to an accident involving a tanker lorry and three cars, causing a jam stretching over five kilometres.
Plus Malaysia Berhad reported on its X account that the incident occurred at Kilometre 264.4 of the North-South Expressway at 5.52pm.
The accident completely blocked all northbound lanes, leaving traffic at a standstill.
Meanwhile, PlusLine, when contacted, said emergency operations have concluded, making way for all lanes to reopen.
However, the spokesperson said the traffic was still moving at a slow pace as of 9pm.
The media also reported that Ipoh district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, said that the tanker was sprawled across the road after skidding.
"There were no fatalities in the accident, and the 46-year-old lorry driver was uninjured," he was quoted as saying when contacted.
