Nine killed, Malaysia condemns mosque shooting in Muscat, Oman

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia condemns the shooting incident that occurred near a mosque in Muscat, Oman, on Tuesday (July 16).

In a statement today, Wisma Putra confirmed that no Malaysians were involved in the incident which killed nine people, including a police officer and three attackers, while 28 others were injured.

"Malaysia extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families of the victims involved in the incident, the people and the government of the Sultanate of Oman.

"Malaysia maintains its stance in rejecting all forms of crime and violent extremism and calls for the perpetrators to be brought to justice," the statement read.
