Home Ministry committed to maintaining integrity within police force, says Saifuddin

PUTRAJAYA: Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution has reiterated the ministry's commitment to maintaining integrity within the police force.

He was addressing recent concerns about police misconduct involving the murder of Nur Farah Kartini and breach of trust allegedly linked to the disappearance of jet fuel from the Police Air Wing Peninsular Base.

He said the Home Ministry would not tolerate any violations of the law by its officers, highlighting that integrity and adherence to the rule of law were its top priorities.

"We provide ample room for the police to conduct thorough investigations into any allegations of misconduct.

"Should sufficient evidence be found, they are free to take necessary legal actions and bring those responsible to justice," he said at a press conference, here.

Addressing the broader issue of police integrity, Saifuddin said with over 130,000 officers, it was essential to deal with even the smallest breaches of conduct seriously.

"The demand for maximum compliance with the law is non-negotiable, given the significant responsibility that comes with being the largest enforcement agency in the country."

Saifuddin said the ministry was committed to transparency and accountability, reinforcing the need for rigorous oversight and adherence to legal and ethical standards within the police.
