Enough talking: DBKL seals 27 premises over unpaid assessment fees

KUALA LUMPUR: Twenty-seven premises in the city have been sealed over their failure to pay their assessment fees.

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) said the premises owed over RM600,000 in assessment fees.

It said the premises were sealed on Nov 13 under Section 148 of the Local Government Act as part of arrears recovery proceedings.

"If they fail to pay their assessment fees, the next step would be to seize and sell their assets," DBKL said, adding that the costs involved would be borne by the premises.

In the statement, DBKL thanked ratepayers who fulfilled their obligations.

"For those who are still finding excuses (not to pay), we will keep coming until it (debt) is cleared."
