KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 399 out of 10,160 candidates who were absent for the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) examination last year have registered to retake the exam.
The Education Ministry (MoE) noted a slight increase in registrations for the retake exams this year compared to 2022, which had 338 candidates, Utusan Malaysia reported.
These candidates are part of the 14,858 students who were absent from the SPM 2022 examination.
"According to the analysis, out of the 338 candidates, only 206 successfully met the requirements and qualified for the SPM certificate.
"However, 54 candidates did not achieve the standards for certification, while 78 were absent from all registered subjects," said the ministry.
Additionally, the MoE disclosed that 236,155 out of 373,255 SPM 2023 graduates have received offers to enroll in Form Six.
