KUALA LUMPUR: The government will continuously seek solutions to address the rising cost of living by keeping prices of goods in check, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said despite positive developments in the country's economic growth, as well as the low inflation and unemployment rates, people are still faced with the issue of rising costs.
"I'm not satisfied as we are still facing the cost of living issue.
"The prices of goods are affecting the livelihood (of the people)," he said in his speech at the closing ceremony of National Cooperative Congress 2024.
He said the government implemented various initiatives to assist the people including the Rahmah Cash Aid, which benefited nine million people, with a total allocation of RM10 billion.
He said in October, he would announce the new remuneration scheme for civil servants that would see the highest increment in the country's history.
