Chinese boy in horror Pahang crash to be treated in Singapore

TEMERLOH: A 9-year-old Chinese national who was critically injured in an accident involving a pickup truck and a trailer in Mentakab will be transferred to the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.

The boy, who is in critical condition, is currently warded at the intensive care unit of Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah here.

He has a brain injury, broken thigh and shoulder bones, and a broken rib.

Temerloh police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mazlan Hassan said two other passengers in the pickup truck who survived the crash are in stable condition.

The two are Malaysian men, aged 65 and 69.

Another two people who were in the pickup truck, a 79-year-old local man and a 46-year-old Chinese national were killed on the spot in yesterday's accident.

The accident saw a trailer crash into the pickup truck. The trailer's driver, 63, was also injured and is receiving treatment at the same hospital.

"The trailer driver has been remanded to assist in investigations. His urine sample returned negative for drugs."
