Johor MB orders repairs, upgrades for Larkin Sentral

JOHOR BARU: Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has instructed for the upgrading and repair works on the Larkin Sentral bus terminal, which receives more than 18,000 users daily.

Although facilities at the Larkin Sentral are functioning well, Onn Hafiz said there was a need to improve and upgrade the premises to provide the best services for users.

He also said this was in line with the state government's vision to upgrade the status of the Larkin Sentral to Grade A from Grade B by the Land Public Transport Agency.

"I made a surprise visit to the Larkin Sentral to check and ensure all facilities here are functioning as well as to evaluate the efficiency of the operation at the terminal.

"Its high number of passengers movement makes the terminal a crucial hub for both local and international travel.

"During the visit, I also take note of all the complaints and suggestions to improve and enhance the level of operations here.

"Among them including upgrading and repairing the roof at the bus platform, improving the ventilation system, providing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, and upgrading facilities for the bus drivers' rest room," he said.

Onn Hafiz added that the state government will do its best to resolve all issues to ensure that Larkin Sentral becomes an efficient transportation hub that meets the comfort of users, especially the people in the state.

"May all these efforts be realised through well-organised and systematic implementation to improve the quality of transportation hub facilities and achieve Johor's aspiration to become a developed state by 2030," he said.
