In Kota Marudu, students and teachers patch up potholes

KOTA MARUDU: A group of students and teachers from Sekolah Kebangsaan Lampada here have patched up a pothole-laden road to the school with stones and soil.

To level the filled potholes, the group used branches.

A video of the group, two teachers and four students, is gaining traction on social media, and has already been viewed over 5,000 times.

Social media user Crispin Crispin Kapal who shared the video said the group tried their best to level the road to make it easier for people to reach the school.

"The path can only be traversed by four-wheel drives, while smaller vehicles find it difficult due to the uneven and deeply pitted surface."

Crispin said others who previously tried to patch up the potholes only filled them with stones, making the road uneven.

Resident Jennry Nuno expressed sympathy for the school's students and teachers.

"The SK Lampada road is indeed challenging."

It is understood that the road, which connects the residents of Kampung Lampada-Soronsob-Panaitan, has been in use since 1982 and has yet to be upgraded to an asphalt road.
