KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Works Department (PWD) has directed the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project developer to repair a poorly patched pothole on Jalan Hj Abdul Manan in Klang, Selangor.
This action follows a viral video posted on Saturday by Facebook user Lando Zawawi Vrus, highlighting the inadequately repaired pothole.
"Upon review, it was found that the location of the road is on Jalan Hj Abdul Manan (State Road), which is currently under the maintenance jurisdiction of the ECRL project developer.
"The damage to the patch, which went viral, was caused by a cold-mix patch done by the developer and water accumulation on the road. For the safety and comfort of road users, PWD, through the Klang District PWD, has instructed the ECRL to repair the patch using a hot-mix method immediately," said PWD in a statement.
It added that PWD remained committed to road user safety, and ensured that such issues were promptly addressed to maintain road quality and safety standards.
