KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has voiced support for national cyclist Datuk Azizulhasni Awang following his Olympic heartbreak last night.
"You're still and forever will be a national treasure," Anwar said in a post on X along with a photo of Azizulhasni.
The "Pocket Rocketman", who won a silver medal in the 2020 Olympics was disqualified from the men's keirin event last night after being judged to have overtaken the derny before it left the track.
Earlier, Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh said she was concerned about Azizulhasni's wellbeing and called on the public to be kind to him and his team during this difficult time.
