KUALA LUMPUR: Firemen are rescuing 25 people who were trapped in a water surge at a river in Selayang.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department, they received a distress call at 1.41pm.
"When firemen from the Selayang Fire and Rescue Department arrived at the location in Sungai Pisang, Selayang, we found that 25 people had been trapped in the water surge," the department said in a statement.
"Efforts to bring the victims to safety are ongoing."
Parts of the Klang Valley have experienced heavy rain throughout the day.
