"I did not say that all the laws formed during the colonial era were outdated but we need to review them so that the people will benefit from it," she said.
Azalina told this to reporters after attending a programme in Limau Kasturi here today.
Yesterday, Azalina said more than 3,000 outdated laws must be reviewed to ensure the legislation remains relevant.
For example, she said in digital technology, existing laws may not be applicable or require amendments to address more relevant situations.
She emphasised that the review should engage various stakeholders, including the Attorney General's Chambers, the judiciary, and law faculties of universities with the expertise to evaluate the legislation.
Recently, it was reported that Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul had convened a meeting with the secretaries-general and legal advisors from each ministry to look into reviewing obsolete laws.
He said such a measure was necessary to assess laws that are no longer relevant or appropriate for the digital era and which need to be updated on par with current times.
Meanwhile, Azalina who is also Umno Information chief said BN candidate Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani has the advantage to win the Nenggiri by-election this Saturday.
"Azmawi has all the requirements needed by the people of Nenggiri. If he wins, he can help solve the problems faced by people in Nenggiri in terms of land and infrastructure.
"If they choose the wrong candidate, all these problems will not be resolved," she added.
