KUALA LUMPUR: Negri Sembilan Umno has officially refuted the authenticity of an infographic circulating online that falsely claims the party congratulated Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun on his appointment as the economy minister.
In a Facebook post, it denounced the infographic as false news and urged the public to be cautious and avoid being misled by such content.
"Official statements from Negri Sembilan Umno will only be issued through the official social media page 'Umno Perhubungan Negeri Sembilan' and/or the TikTok account 'umno_ns'," the post stated.
"If in doubt, do not share," it said.
On Monday, an online news portal reported speculation about a potential cabinet reshuffle less than a year after the last one.
According to a PKR insider quoted in the story, a minister from the party will either be reassigned to a different ministry, or axed from the cabinet entirely due to performance issues.
The source also told the portal that a menteri besar might be appointed to a ministerial position in the Federal government, a move that was previously considered during the last cabinet reshuffle.
Currently, PKR has two MBs: Aminuddin for Negri Sembilan and Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari for Selangor.
However, Amirudin expressed his preference to remain as Selangor MB rather than accepting a federal ministerial post.
He has not received any information indicating a move from his current role.
