ALOR STAR: Former New Straits Times Press (NSTP) photographer Mokhsin Abidin was found dead at his home in Jalan Tanjung Bendara here. He was 57.
His younger brother, Syaharim, found his body upon checking on him about 10pm yesterday after Mokhsin, who lived alone, didn't answer his phone calls.
Syaharim, also a former NSTP photographer, said he had delivered dinner to Mokhsin on Saturday evening as he was down with a fever.
Mokhsin's body was sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for a post-mortem.
He started his career with the NSTP as an office assistant at the Penang NSTP bureau in 1986, before being appointed as a photographer at Balai Berita Bangsar in the early 1990s.
He left the company after taking part in a voluntary separation scheme in 2014.
Mokhsin, the second of eight children, is survived by seven children from his first marriage and a daughter from his second marriage.
The body will be taken to Masjid Al-Aziz in Tanjung Bendahara here for funeral prayers after the post-mortem, and is expected to be buried at the mosque's cemetery after Asar prayers today.
