NSTP sparks reading interest with free newspapers and e-papers at Selangor book fair

SHAH ALAM: A newspaper distribution campaign by the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) Bhd is creating a buzz at the Selangor International Book Fair (SIBF) 2024 here today.

The organisers are distributing 900 free copies of Berita Harian, Harian Metro and New Straits Times to pique the visitors' interest in current affairs and knowledge.

NSTP business development and special projects manager Tengku Kaifimirza Tuan Cherit@Tengku Hamzah said the initiative aims to revitalize the reading culture among the younger generation.

"We are not just distributing newspapers; we are igniting a passion for information," he added.

The innovative approach offers visitors more than just print media.

Attendees can claim a one-year free digital newspaper subscription by simply scanning a QR code provided by NSTP.

As an added incentive, Nestle also sponsored a complimentary box of breakfast cereal with each free subscription.

SIBF 2024 promises to be more than a typical book fair, as it also features seven dynamic programme zones, including a main stage, piano space, children's section and multiple performance areas.

Exciting programmes like the "Hati dan Minda Sasterawan/Karyawan" and the Pantun Song Competition with Roslan Madun are set to captivate visitors.

Running until Dec 3 at the Setia City Convention Centre, the fair aims to transform passive reading into an interactive, engaging experience.
