KUALA LUMPUR: Several residents have been asked to evacuate their houses following a landslide at Taman Bunga Raya near Jalan Genting Klang in Wangsa Maju here.
Fire and Rescue Department personnel rushed to the scene following a distress call at around 5.43pm today (Thursday).
According to operations commander Muhammad Hasif Zakaria, a team of six personnel and one fire engine from the Wangsa Maju fire station were deployed to the scene.
"We immediately checked the location and found that a landslide had occurred by the side of a hill behind a row of houses.
"Based on information received from the police, residents living in houses near the site of the landslide have been asked to evacuate," he said in a statement.
He said there were still signs of soil movement at the scene.
"Our personnel are at the scene to monitor the situation," he said.
