Authorities confirm holes forming on road at Kg Attap

KUALA LUMPUR: A picture is being circulated on social media of holes forming on a road at Kampung Attap.

The image was circulated with a caption stating that the incident occurred along Jalan Choo Cheng Khay, Kampung Attap.

The image shows holes forming on the road as several individuals believed to be traffic police personnel inspect the location.

Several Kuala Lumpur City Hall personnel were also seen in the picture placing traffic cones at the junction.

When contacted, the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations control centre confirmed the incident.

"Based on our checks, the incident was believed to have occurred two days ago.

"The incident was not reported to us," it said.

This incident follows the two sinkholes which formed at Masjid India recently.

The first incident which occurred last Friday has led to the disappearance of Indian tourist, G. Vijayaletchumy, 48.

The second incident saw another sinkhole form about 50 metres away on early Wednesday morning.

Search and rescue efforts have gone into its seventh day to find the victim.

Meanwhile the Kuala Lumpur City Hall confirmed the incident which occurred near Jalan Dewan Bahasa, Kampung Attap.

"Work has already been performed to repair the affected road," it said.
