MACC grills FashionValet co-founders amid ongoing investigation [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: FashionValet co-founders Datuk Fadzaruddin Shah Anuar and Datin Vivy Yusof are currently being questioned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

According to sources, the couple arrived at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya at 2pm today, where they are being grilled over ongoing investigations.

MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that both individuals were under questioning.

When asked about the possibility of their remand, Azam said that it would depend on the discretion of the investigating officer.

"I will rely on the discretion of my IO," he said.

Sources revealed that the questioning process was expected to take several hours, with the couple possibly finishing later this evening.

"They might only be done after Maghrib prayers."

It was reported earlier that the couple would be questioned today as part of the MACC's investigation into RM43.9 million in alleged investment losses linked to Khazanah Nasional Bhd (Khazanah) and Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB).

Azam also said that the MACC had called four witnesses from PNB, Khazanah, and the Finance Ministry to provide statements, which would assist with the investigation

As part of the probe, the MACC seized several documents, which were collected during searches at the Finance Ministry, Khazanah, PNB, and FashionValet Sdn Bhd's headquarters yesterday.

The couple had previously announced on Nov 1 that they would step down from their roles at FashionValet, citing the ongoing investigation into the sale of PNB and Khazanah's stakes in the company.

They made the decision to protect the company, which is currently undergoing a financial turnaround.
