KUANTAN: Vehicle spare parts and modified fuel tanks were among the seized goods worth RM809,205 disposed of by the Pahang Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN), here, yesterday (Aug 29).
Its director Jezlily Jamaluddin said the items were seized in nine cases under the Supply Control Act 1961, Trademarks Act 2019 and Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011 between 2023 and this year.
"The goods were disposed of after the required court procedures were completed and among the items were vehicle spare parts, spare fuel tanks on modified vehicles and documents involved with fraudulent activities involving subsidised diesel," she said in a statement today (Aug 30).
Between January and yesterday (Aug 29), the ministry in Pahang inspected49,186 premises, recording 489 cases with seizures worth RM1.88 million, she said.
She said compounds amounting to RM355,650 were issued for 428 cases and nine cases were prosecuted in court with a fine totalling RM311,000.
Jezlily urged consumers to act as the eyes and ears of the ministry to channel information related to laws violated by traders using the various platforms provided by the ministry.
