Nga Kor Ming and IGP shine at 2024 National Day parade [WATCH]

PUTRAJAYA: The 2024 National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya featured unexpected guest appearances, adding a unique twist to the festivities.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming made headlines as the first Cabinet member to join the parade, appearing alongside the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).


Dressed in JBPM uniform, Nga rode atop one of the department's vehicles.

He and several JBPM personnel in uniform waved to the crowd and saluted His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia.

Nga's participation was an unusual departure from protocol, as he was expected to be in the VIP tent with other national leaders.

Also making a notable appearance was Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, who led the police contingent.

Razarudin was seen riding a horse at the forefront of the police formation.

This year's celebration showcased 13,009 participants in the parade and performances, captivating the audience. Approximately 200,000 visitors attended the 2024 National Day parade.
