PUTRAJAYA: The 2024 National Day parade in Putrajaya not only dazzled with its vibrant performances but also excelled in maintaining exceptional cleanliness.
Checks made by News Straits Times saw visitors demonstrating strong civic responsibility by holding onto their trash, ensuring the venue stayed litter-free.
Meanwhile, cleaning staff worked diligently, efficiently managing waste and upholding a pristine environment throughout the event.
Cleaning operations commenced just 30 minutes after the parade ended, with a sufficient number of workers on duty.
This collaborative effort between attendees and cleaning crews contributed to a pleasant atmosphere during the celebrations.
The success of the "Bring Back Your Trash" campaign was evident, garnering positive feedback from the public.
Organised by Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) and Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp), through concessionaire Alam Flora, the initiative is aimed at keeping the government administrative centre clean.
PPj president Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud said the extensive preparations saw the deployment of 200 cleaning staff, 650 trash bins, 100 mobile bins, and 11 large roll-on/roll-off bins for the event.
