PUTRAJAYA: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, yesterday reminded the people that racial unity among the races is vital to ensure holds the key to the nation's prosperity.
"The most meaningful gift for me is the unity among races because it is key to the country's prosperity," he decreed while sharing wrote in his 2024 National Day message on his official Facebook page.
Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, had earlier graced the celebration at Dataran Putrajaya here.
This marked Their Majesties first National Day celebration since Sultan Ibrahim was installed as crowned as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.King of Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this year's celebration was important to inspire everyone to understand the meaning of independence achieved 67 years ago.
"I am proud to witness the spirited and energetic performances by the security forces, enforcement bodies, government agencies, the private sector and children during the parade," he shared on Facebook.
He said the celebration's theme Malaysia Madani, Jiwa Merdeka had upheld the theme of integrity by highlighting the fight battle to rid the country of corruption.
"Persembahan dan sorakan menakjubkan daripada sekitar 2,000 anak-anak pelajar yang memenuhi pasukan Teres Grafik Manusia juga mencuri tumpuan sepanjang perarakan ini," katanya.
"My highest appreciation and congratulations to the hundreds of thousands of Malaysians of all races who waited since morning to participate in the celebration.
"May this wonderful celebration inspire us all to embody the meaning of independence achieved 67 years ago with a strong spirit of unity and freedom of the people," he said.
