Sanusi to Puad Zarkashi: Don't worry about SG4, it will become SG8 next

PADANG TERAP: Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Dr Puad Zarkashi should not be worried about Perikatan Nasional-led state government's move to establish SG4 Group Sdn Bhd.

Instead, the Kedah Menteri Besar Puad should be concerned about PN 'expanding the cooperation to SG8, after capturing four other states in the next general election'.

"I wish to inform Puad Zarkashi that in Kedah there is no BN (seat), the same goes in Perlis and Terengganu, while in Kelantan, BN only has two seats. So, what is there for BN to exchange with?

"I want to tell him that PN will capture Pahang, Perak, Melaka and Negri Sembilan (in the next election). We will be expanding further (PN state administration).

"Next week, it will be SG8. Tell that to Puad Zarkashi. He doesn't have to worry (about SG4)," he told reporters after handing over land titles to 462 recipients in Padang Terap district at Felcra Belimbing Tolak here today.

Yesterday, Puad criticised the decision to establish SG4 Group Sdn Bhd, a new jointly-owned company by the four PN-led state governments.

In a Facebook posting, Puad said the initiative is politically motivated, stressing that it is unprecedented for four states to share ownership of a company.

The Rengit assemblyman has also questioned the company's future if any of the states currently led by Perikatan Nasional - Terengganu, Kelantan, Perlis, and Kedah - were to fall to other parties.

On Monday, the four PN-led state governments established the company to drive development in their states, focusing on five key areas.

Commenting further, Sanusi said the SG4 was formed based on state governments jurisdiction under the state list as enshrined by the Federal Constitution.

"We are cooperating on matters that are contained on the state list such as land, water, minerals, mining and so on based on the Federal Constitution.

"We have agreed to make SG4 a platform for the four states' cooperation, negotiation, collaboration in accordance with the law," he said.

He stressed that the company's RM2 per share value is not a big issue as the more important matter is cooperation among the four states.
