KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has launched an investigation into a payment claim related to the Education Ministry's 1BestariNet service tender, valued at RM4 billion, which was awarded to YTL Communications Sdn Bhd in 2011.
MACC Investigation Division senior director Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hashim confirmed that the case was being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
Sources disclosed that MACC conducted raids at a government office and the YTL Communications Sdn Bhd office in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
The 1Bestarinet Project was the result of an open tender process that saw 19 companies submit bids.
