KAJANG: The Anugerah Alam Campsite operator in Sungai Batangsi near Semenyih has recently posted a statement on Facebook saying that it did not give permission to a convoy of four-wheel-drive owners to park their vehicles in a stream under the camp's management.
Recently, a Facebook user shared a picture of seven four-wheel-drive vehicles parked in a row in the shallow waters of the river.
This caused netizens to criticise the four-wheel-drive enthusiasts' inconsiderate action, which had allegedly caused inconvenience to other visitors and campers.
"Following the recent viral pictures showing a group of 4x4 vehicles parked in a river, Anugerah Alam Campsite would like to clarify that it never gave permission for any 4x4 vehicles to be parked in the river area, which was used by our guests for swimming.
"We placed 'red tape' in several areas of the river and the surrounding campsite to prevent 4x4 vehicles from entering the swimming zone, as well as to deter vehicles from travelling beyond certain points," the campsite operator said.
The operator added that the red tape had disappeared since the convoy members trespassed on that area.
"We strongly condemn such behaviour and hope that our guests adhere to the rules we have set to preserve this place," the Anugerah Alam Campsite operator said.
The campsite operator believed that the group of four-wheel-drive enthusiasts might have taken down the red tape when they drove their vehicles into the stream.
The picture, which had been widely shared on social media and WhatsApp groups, received much criticism from netizens.
User Aloo Kaekk Kaekk wrote : "If i were to say stupid, that might offend you but based on the vehicles used looks intelligent."
Ainul Yasmin said some things were not taught at school. "That is why common sense is important," she said.
Another FB user Ryan Roy Prince said: "This group will get riled up when fuel price goes up, but they tend to forget that parking in the stream can trigger other people's anger. "
