IPOH: Firefighters were called in to provide assistance in cutting off a metal ring that had become stuck on a man's genitals after he was rushed to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here today.
Fire and Rescue station chief Azman Hussin said a call was received from the hospital at 9.14am, as medical staff were attempting to remove the ring from the 37-year-old man's genitals.
He stated that the operation, which took place in HRPB's Emergency Unit, lasted for 15 minutes due to some difficulties.
"A request for special assistance was received from HRPB to cut a ring off the man's genitals. Upon arrival, we found a man with a metal ring stuck on his genitals."
"It took firefighters 15 minutes to cut the ring using specialised tools as it was quite thick," he said when contacted this evening.
Azman added that two firefighters were dispatched for the operation, which concluded at 10.12am.
