PUTRAJAYA: The Immigration Department wants to get more people to renew their passport online.
Director-general Datuk Ruslin Jusoh today said the department was always looking to overcome congestion at counters.
"For passports, some may not understand this process.
"One of the methods we are employing is to educate people that they can renew their passports online."
He said this at the department headquarters.
He said it had identified that one of the factors causing congestion was the school holidays.
"We recommend that the public use the online application system, especially for passport matters.
"If you renew it online, two days later, you will receive a notification to go to the office to claim the passport."
