TEMERLOH: Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor shot down the prospect of becoming Malaysia's Prime Minister in the future, saying he never had such an aspiration.
The Pas election director dismissed talks of becoming the country's leader saying he was not prepared and to find someone else.
"No, I am not ready.... not ready. Find someone else lah. I am a partyman and have not placed any personal ambition. I leave it to the party to arrange.
"Party tells me to manage a branch, I will do so and if they tell me to manage a state, I adhere. I have no self interest or ambition," he told reporters during the party's Muslimat (women's wing) general assembly in Kerdau, here today.
When asked if he aspires to hold the country's top job, Sanusi replied never and went on to say they had never thought of even contesting in the elections.
Sanusi said he has never thought of being part of the leadership hierarchy and leaves it to the party to decide on his fate based on the meetings and public feedback.
"I cannot 'jolok' (make myself visible) myself like some leaders from other parties who try to offer themselves to become leaders and show off their wealth.
These actions are ruining politics in this country. A political party should not be like that. Let the people decide if one is fit to be a leader.
"Do not use money to secure support or build your influence by putting up a fake impression. This will damage our country," he said.
Sanusi was among several names proposed by Pas Youths as Prime Minister material, including Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
