Former GISB staff claims working for 10 years without pay

KUALA LUMPUR: A former worker of GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) has claimed that he did not receive his salary for 10 years while working with the company.

According to Buletin TV3, the worker said that initially, he was paid about RM50 to RM100 per week until 2013.

"After that, in 2014, when I started working full-time, I didn't receive any salary. They just gave me food, drinks, and a place to stay," he said, adding that other workers shared the same fate.

He later took his employers to the Labour Court, which ordered GISB to pay him RM23,100 as part of his claims.

GISB is currently facing numerous accusations of exploitation and abuse.

On Sept 11, police rescued 402 children from 20 homes connected to GISB during a raid, leading to 171 arrests.

Police also received information that they were also taught the act of sodomy and forced to sodomise other children in the home.

GISB has since denied the allegations and threatened legal action against those who defame the company.
