KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) have officially entered into a partnership with global football powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The announcement was made by the Southern Tigers through an update on their social media platform yesterday.
"Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, the Regent of Johor, who is also the owner of Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), met with a delegation from Paris Saint-Germain led by Daniel Markham, Chief of Staff to PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, where a principal agreement was reached to establish a collaboration between the French Ligue 1 champions and JDT.
"Discussions included aspects such as a 'multi-club partnership' with football clubs owned by Qatar Sports Investments, grassroots football development, infrastructure, branding, as well as sharing expertise and technology," read the statement.
In a related development, Tunku Mahkota Ismail was also given the honour of previewing PSG's latest projects.
"Tunku Mahkota Ismail received an invitation from Nasser Al-Khelaifi to visit Paris to tour PSG's new training centre and attend a match at the Parc des Princes," the statement added.
