KUALA LUMPUR: The head of GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) has acknowledged that "one or two" cases of sodomy occurred in its welfare homes but said they only involved several people.
"There were sodomy cases, but one or two (cases), why are these being lumped together?," GISBH's Nasiruddin Mohd Ali said in a video posted on GISBH Holding's Facebook page.
"Then we were accused of human trafficking, exploiting children. It happened so fast without any discussions," said Nasiruddin, the company's executive chairman and CEO.
He questioned the authorities' move to remove 402 children, aged one to 17, from under its care. GISBH previously denied allegations of child exploitation.
Nasiruddin said the authorities should have discussed the matter with them instead of "detaining" the children.
He also denied that the children were asked to sodomise others and other allegations, including that GISBH had prepared "air berkat" using leg hairs and water.
Such claims, he said, were "baseless and disgusting".
Nasiruddin said GISBH regretted such claims, describing them as slander aimed at crippling the company's businesses.
Moving forward, he added that GISBH will seek legal advice on the accusations made against them.
"I hope you (viewers) can help pay for a lawyer, I am not ashamed to ask (for help). We will fight for the truth."
On Wednesday, police rescued 402 minors from welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan linked to GISBH.
Then, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the victims, had endured various forms of exploitation and abuse including being sodomised.
He also said initial investigations revealed that caretakers also taught the children to sodomise other children.
