King, PM extend wishes for 91st Malaysian Armed Forces Day

KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia conveyed well wishes to members of the armed forces in conjunction with the 91st Malaysian Armed Force Day yesterday.

The king, who is the supreme commander of the armed forces paid tribute to the men and women of the armed forces for their contributions and thanked them for their service in defending the country's security.

He also paid tribute to those who died in the line of duty.

"Al Fatihah to all the country's fallen heroes who have left us. May their souls be placed amongst the righteous.

"I pray that the armed forces continue being the primary institution which defends the sovereignty of our beloved country," said Sultan Ibrahim in a post on his official Facebook.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also wished a happy 91st Malaysian Armed Forces Day to all members of the armed forces.

"My appreciation to the entire Malaysian Armed Forces family. Thank you for your services and dedication in safeguarding the country's security and sovereignty.

"Continue to serve this beloved country. Happy 91st MAF Day," he said as quoted by Bernama.

The Malaysian Armed Forces Day is celebrated on Sept 16 every year.
