Network disruption halts Immigration services for hours

KUALA LUMPUR: The Immigration Department's services have been unavailable since this morning, with many netizens venting their frustration online.

When contacted, the department confirmed that it was among several agencies dependent on the MyGov*Net network, which is currently experiencing network disruptions due to high traffic.

A notice by MyGov*Net stated that the disruptions began at 8.38am and had also affected the National Registration Department (NRD), the Road Transport Department (RTD) and the Customs Department.

The notice did not mention when services would resume.

Netizens have flooded the Immigration Department's X page since this morning with complaints and inquiries about the outage, which has crippled services at several branches.

MyGov*Net, also known as the Government Integrated Telecommunications Network, provides network infrastructure for government ministries, agencies and departments.
