KUALA LUMPUR: Former Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith, died at 7.10am today at his home in Bukit Chedang, Seremban.
His death was confirmed by Negri Sembilan Perikatan Nasional chairman Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker.
Eddin Syazlee, 50, was the former member of parliament for Kuala Pilah.
He had served multiple portfolios in the federal administration, including deputy minister in the prime minister's department (parliament and law), deputy works minister and deputy minister in the prime minister's department (economic affairs).
Mohamed Hanifah said that the health of the PN state advisor began to decline five months ago, and he was receiving follow-up treatment at a private hospital.
"Datuk Eddin was brought home yesterday after receiving treatment at a private hospital here.
"The late Eddin passed away at his home. We (PN members) have been at his home since last night with the family, and his passing is a great loss for PN in this state," he said.
Eddin Syazlee leaves behind wife, Datin Dr Nurul Azlin Ibrahim, two sons, and one daughter.
His body will be taken to Masjid Chedang for prayers and laid to rest at the Bandar Ainsdale Muslim cemetery.
