GRS-PH pact making significant progress, should continue, says Joniston

KOTA KINABALU: The current Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-Pakatan Harapan (PH) government is making significant progress, said GRS information Chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai.

"This government consists of local parties and PH, both have expressed their comfort in working together.

"If the government is performing well and the cooperation is strong, then I believe there is no reason to end it.

"If it benefits the people, why should we change it? As we approach the next election, we hope that this cooperation will continue.

"We need to present ourselves to the people that this GRS-PH government is functioning effectively," he told the media after launching the 4th Tanjung Aru Beach Festival at Prince Phillip Park here.

Noor's statement in Sipitang, where he mentioned that Sabah has not yet been able to emulate Sarawak in having only local parties in its government.

Joniston added that the current cooperation, in which local parties are dominant, is working smoothly.

"I believe there will be discussions on how we can move forward, but I think the Chief Minister's message is clear. We should maintain the current government and continue our cooperation, especially as we approach future elections," he added.
