Sultan Nazrin inaugurates new Perak SSM Tower, hub for local business growth

IPOH: Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, officially opened the Perak branch of the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) today.

Also present were Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, Raja Muda of Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

The modern 10-storey SSM Tower spans 175,853 sq ft and offers facilities such as parking, convenience stores, a café, and a prayer room, along with 24-hour security. Services are provided on the ground floor, while other floors are rented out to generate revenue.

SSM's presence in Perak dates back 32 years, with the office operating in various locations before moving to its own building on Jalan Basco Kepayang this year.

In his speech, Armizan said that the SSM Tower aligns with SSM's vision of being a leading corporate registrar and reinforces its support for the local business community.

He added that the tower will serve as a central hub for business entities, reflecting the government's commitment to providing top-notch facilities and ensuring transparent corporate practices.

As of Aug 31, SSM has registered 61,692 companies, 795,350 businesses, and 1,073 limited liability partnerships (LLPs) in Perak, with 26,127 companies, 150,397 businesses, and 972 LLPs remaining active.

Armizan said he is confident that these numbers will continue to rise, contributing to Perak's economic growth and supporting state and national aspirations.
