Sultan of Selangor reiterates disappointment with abuse of children linked to GISBH

SHAH ALAM: The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has once again expressed his disappointment over the abuse and neglect of children linked to GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd.

Through a post on the Facebook of the Royal Selangor Office, His Royal Highness said it shows that GISBH does not understand that children have rights that need to be respected and treated with respect.

The Sultan said the children have the right to live and stay in a peaceful and safe environment and away from crimes such as molestation, sodomy, abuse, forced marriage and divorce, forced labour, to be separated from their parents and forced to claim as orphans.

Sultan Sharafuddin said he shared the essence of today's Friday sermon "Kenapa GISBH Buat Begini Kepada Kanak-Kanak" (Why GISBH Did This to Children) which was delivered in mosques in Selangor.

The sermon reminded the community that children are a trust from Allah SWT, and it is the responsibility of the community to protect their dignity and welfare.

It also emphasised the important roles of parents, guardians, and charitable organisations in shaping a bright future for children by creating a safe and nurturing environment.

Sultan Sharafuddin, who performed today's Friday prayers at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, called on Muslims to love and treat children with love.

Last Sept 21, Sultan Sharafuddin expressed his sadness at the news related to the police's investigation into criminal activities GISBH) and its network.

In this regard, His Highness decreed that all charitable homes and Islamic schools under the control of GISBH and its network that are not registered or suspected to be involved in criminal activities including syariah crimes be closed immediately and not allowed to operate in Selangor as a preventive measure to prevent the children involved from continuing to be abused.– Bernama
